Performance Optimization

Whether it is running faster, jumping higher, or simply living life more fully, what are the techniques you are employing to improve your performance?

Exercise Recovery Services

Training does not end at the conclusion of a workout.  Progression also requires appropriate recovery.  Stop in to take advantage of our resources to help you bounce back from your workout:

  • Normatec® Compression Boots
  • InfraRed Sauna

Biomechanical Evaluation

Have you ever felt like you were in a revolving door of injury and recovery?  Have you ever sought to go beyond a quick treatment in an effort to understand/resolve the original source of pathology?  Our Institute seeks to serve as the source for a thorough understanding of the disease process, including offering biomechanical evaluation for musculoskeletal conditions.  The products offered in this category include:

  • Static/postural alignment, basic movement patterns
  • Video assisted running gait analysis, using the top of the line Vicon VeroTM System.

Physiology Testing

If Biomechanics is the metaphorical chassis evaluation, physiology is the athlete’s engine analysis.  No longer just for the elite, athletes across the spectrum of sports participation are seeking physiology testing both as a baseline measure as well as a training feedback mechanism.  We offer one of the only Physiology Testing Labs outside of the University or Research setting in the Orlando Metro area.  Examples of testing protocols include:

  • VO2 Max
  • Aerobic Threshold/Lactate Profiles
  • Anaerobic Power
  • Power Output Profiles

Exercise Biomarker Evaluation

It is also vital to consider the role of chemistry as it relates to injury and performance.  Modern medicine now has access to a large menu of hormonal and neurochemical biomarkers that provide a “dashboard” of indicators pertaining to the internal chemistry of the athlete.  Powerful information can be gleaned by even a simple panel.  Whether monitoring for appropriate recovery from an injury, determining if adequate training stress is being applied, or ensuring overtraining is being avoided, biomarkers are another important toolset in the full picture approach to athlete management.

Body Composition Analysis

Your internal composition, especially with regards to changes over time, is a vital tool for understanding the body’s “status.”  Down to comparing your individual limbs, we offer very thorough and accurate analysis, using the InBodyTM system, so you can better understand the components of muscle, fat, bone, and hydration status.
