Chris Williams


Head Athletic Trainer

Chris Williams holds a Master of Science in Sports Performance from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Central Florida, is a licensed and certified athletic trainer with extensive experience in various sports settings. A highlight of Williams’ time as a student was having the opportunity to have an internship with the WWE. His professional journey reflects a dedication to athlete care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Most recently, Williams served as the Athletic Trainer for the Center for Basketball Development at Montverde Academy, where he led medical care for basketball, and assisted the medical care of the tennis, and aquatic programs. His role included implementing injury prevention protocols and coordinating medical care for multiple sports teams.

Prior to Montverde Academy, Williams was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stetson University, where he was the primary medical provider for women’s softball, women’s indoor volleyball, and the men’s and women’s cross-country teams. He also played a key role in coordinating continuing education opportunities for the sports medicine staff and served on the nutrition and catastrophic injury committee.

Williams’ experiences also include an internship with the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s football team, where he managed insurance claims, conducted rehabilitation programs, and maintained hydrotherapy equipment. As a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Louisiana Tech University, he designed and implemented rehabilitation programs for the volleyball team and assisted with medical care of the football team. Williams was the point of contact for the NCAA injury surveillance program. Also, while at Louisiana Tech, Williams interned at a local physical therapy clinic to expand his rehabilitation knowledge.

He is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association and holds several certifications, including Corrective Exercise Specialist and Certified Ace Massage Cupping Practitioner. Chris is a member of the Athletic Training Association of Florida’s Governmental Affairs Committee where he works on issues with athletic training legislature.

Chris and his wife Carolina, live in Umatilla with their son Hayes and daughter Valentina. He has two dogs, Cane and King. Chris enjoys working out, going to nature preserves with his family, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
