What is Body Composition?

‌Body composition is a term used often by doctors and health professionals. It refers to the percentage of fat, bone, and muscle in your body. Doctors use body composition to see if you’re at a healthy composition for your individual body. By measuring body composition, an individualized health plan can be created to best fit your goals and personal needs. It can help you become healthier and have more self-esteem. You will have more energy once the muscle to fat ratio is balanced.

Previously, body composition was only achievable with DEXA or BOD POD® devices. Unfortunately, DEXA is only available at hospitals and uses radiation. BOD POD technology is not readily available and requires the user to sit in a capsule while nearly nude. Our InBodyTM analyzer capitalizes on advanced radiation-free technology to provide 98% accuracy following a 2-minute test while the user remains fully clothed.

Why Should I Get Body Composition?

Whether you are just getting started on your weight loss or fitness journey, or just want to improve and track your current body state, a body composition test can serve as your benchmark. Check back in every 6 to 8 weeks to see if your body fat percentage or muscle mass is changing. You will be able to track your progress and compare goals from the beginning to the end. You will be able to create your very own road map to successful weight loss and enhanced fitness.

What Does Body Composition Measure?

  • Visceral fat
  • BMI-Body mass index
  • Bone mass
  • Fat distribution within your body, broken down into segments.
  • BMR- Basil metabolic rate (The number of calories you burn per day.)
  • Hydration levels and water weight
  • FFM-Fat free mass
